Daily SEL Lesson – Practicing Gratitude 4/27

Welcome to the CLS Daily SEL lesson. Each day, Monday through Friday, we will provide a new social-emotional learning lesson designed to build emotional intelligence and resilience. There will be a lesson for elementary students and a lesson for secondary students that include media (videos, audios, or text) and simple step-by-step instructions.

This week we are focusing on gratitude. Did you know that developing a gratitude practice can boost happiness? Check out the lessons this week to learn more.

Weekly Focus: Gratitude

Elementary Lesson – Practicing Gratitude

Instructions:

  1. Watch the video.
  2. Make a list of different things you are thankful for right now. Try to come up with at least three.
  3. Try this practice every day this week. How do you think it will make you feel?

Secondary Lesson – Experiment in Gratitude

Instructions:

  1. Watch the video 
  2. List three things you learned from the video.
  3. Think of a person you are really thankful for right now. Call them and tell them how you feel.
